Group 'A' Posts –> Group A posts is carried out by UPSC - admitted through Civil Service Exam, Engineering Service Exam, and also Medical Service Examination.

Group 'B' Posts –> This posts are not open to directly. The Group B posts link Section Officers Grade - upgraded posts from Group 'C' railway employees on deputation basis.

Educational Qualifications: Minimum 10th class pass or ITI or equivalent trade for Group C & D Posts. Graduate / Post Graduate for Group A & B Posts.

Selection Procedure: Written Examination. There is no Interview (Viva Voce) after the written examination. For a very few specific (Group A & B) categories there is a Viva after the written exam, while for certain other categories there is a Skill Test (like typing test or stenography test) and for categories related to operational safety like Assistant Station Master, Assistant Loco Pilot, there will be an Aptitude Test.

Age Limit: 18 to 32 Years as on 1st January 2016. Age Relaxation 05 Years for SC / ST, 03 Years for OBC, For others as per Rules

Educational Qualification:

(1) Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.

(2) Input of Proficiency in English / Hindi in  computer is essential for JCAA / Senior Clerk Typist hardcore / Senior Time Keeper notes.

Pay Scale:

Commercial Apprentice / Traffic Apprentice -> ₹ 9300 - 34800/- + GP ₹ 4200/- 

ECRC / Goods Guard / Senior Clerk-cum-Typist / ASM / Senior Time Keeper -> ₹ 5200 - 20200 + GP ₹ 2800/- 

Traffic Assistant -> ₹ 5200 - 20200 + GP ₹ 2000/-

Exam Fee. For UR / OBC male candidates are required to pay the examination fee is ₹ 100 /. No examination fee for candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex- Servicemen / Women / Minorities / Trans genders / Disabled and economically backward classes. The payment can be made only with SBI Bank challan / Post Office challan.

The selection process:. The single-phase CBT (Computer Based Test) / students are conducted simultaneously in all participating RRBs [same date (s)] tentatively March-May, 2016.
